This is my Why board… Reminding me Why I do what I do… #1 - I want to live a GREAT story!

I had a crazy morning today. Dropping the kids off to camp, running errands, doing laundry between business calls, prepping meals for our upcoming backpacking trip, typing up details for the grandparents who are watching the kids, making sure I have the dog supplies set aside for the family taking care of him… It was feeling chaotic and messy and more than a little insane.

Til I was driving home with the windows down, radio blaring, smiling ear-to-ear - and I realized, “this is it.” This is WHY I decided to work for myself and create a life where I can have the flexibility to run the kids to camp and do a few errands in between meetings and networking and projects. THIS is it. I get to sing songs at the top of my lungs with the kids and take the dog for a walk and enjoy lunch on the deck - all while making a difference in other people’s lives.

It felt crazy today - but it was my crazy. And I knew I had the choice to change any piece of it that didn’t work. But guess what? It felt like a good day. I didn’t want to change a thing.

Years ago, I made the very intentional choice to be a stay-at-home-mom. Then, I made the choice to become a Coach - and still be a present mom. That was an intention that I made and has guided every decision since - including other job opportunities.

A few years ago, I started leading a Life Vision Workshop each January - a chance to spend a little time dreaming, imagining, and envisioning the story that wanted to be told. Each person would come up with one word or phrase that described the best version of their future selves - and that word would guide their next 12 months. We’d set intentions in each of the six areas of life (health, career, finances, relationships, connection to That Which is Greater, and rest and play) - and let that one word guide those intentions. It was a day that exuded possibility and the idea that we have a choice in the story we choose to tell with our life.

The first year I did this, my word was Growth - it was a year of learning how to be a Coach, but also growing in my knowledge of myself, trusting my instincts, and getting closer and closer to discovering what I truly wanted in life. The second year I did this, my word was Confident - and boy, was I thrown into the gauntlet that year! So many opportunities to turn and run from challenges, or step into them knowing who I was and what I could offer. And this past year, my word was Empowered - after two years where so much of my life felt out of my control, I decided it was time to take back control in my health, in my family, in my career, in my connections… In so many ways, I am no longer waiting for others to “fix it” or tell me what to do - but I’m creating the life I want, and love.

And today I realized how powerful this journey has been - because I AM living, and continuing to create, a great story.

So my question is - Are you? Do you love your life? Is it leaving a legacy that you’re proud of? Do you go to bed at night thankful for another day?

And if not… What’s stopping you? I’m planning to offer my Life Vision Workshop in September this year (I always think of back-to-school as another sort of New Year). If you’re thinking it’s time to step into some new intentions that could start moving you toward a life you’ll love - leave a comment or send a message. I’d love to help you start writing that next chapter!

This is it. This is our life. If it’s not suiting you, if it’s not the best it can absolutely be, isn’t time to ask why? And what’s next? If you’re ready, click here to schedule a 45-minute Reclaim Your Life Breakthrough Call and find out what story is yearning to be lived, what’s holding you back, and the #1 thing that will get that journey started!

Sending you Joy today, my friend!
