How Do I Feel Better?
Do you ever wake up and wonder “Is this it? Is this as good as it’s gonna get?”
I’ve spoken to several people over the last few weeks who have echoed this sentiment… They’ve met their goals. They have the partner, the kids, the house, the car… They go on vacations and have thriving social circles. It all looks amazing on paper.
But when they lay down in bed at night, they find themselves wondering “Is this all there is?”
Many have told me that before COVID, they felt connected, purposeful, even happy! But since that lull… Things haven’t quite gotten back to where they were.
One girlfriend told me that she feels like she went from a social butterfly to a hermit - and doesn’t really want to come back out (I can totally relate). Another friend has found that the activities she used to do don’t feel productive or fulfilling anymore. Yet another explained that since COVID, her values have changed dramatically, looking inward more - and her social circle doesn’t seem to understand, so now she feels like an outsider.
All of them ask “How do I feel better?”
They feel off-kilter, unsettled, less energetic, less engaged, less connected. They feel unsure of what they actually want and need - and even, what will make them look forward in excitement.
Can you relate?
It’s like we’re all stuck - and unsure of how to gain motivation and momentum again. We simply don’t know where to start.
Well, I don’t have a one-size-fits-all answer, because we each “feel better” in different ways. Is it Health related? Relationship related? Career? Mental health? Friendships? The first step is defining what “feel better” might look like for you.
So here’s my suggestion: Get out a piece of paper or a journal and start brainstorming. If you were to feel 3 times better in your life right now - what would that look like? What would you be experiencing? What would you be feeling? What would your environment be like? Who would you be sharing your time with? Whatever comes to mind - write it down!
Once you have that vision in front of you - find one small way of moving towards it.
That’s it. One small movement, if done consistently, can often start the momentum we need.
If you want to feel better - define what that would look like, decide on one small step, and start doing it.
If that feels too small - or overwhelming - I’d love to have a chat about it! This is exactly how we start a Coaching experience - and build a beautiful momentum towards a life you’ll love.
In September, I’ll be offering my Life Vision Workshop again - time and space set aside to do just this. If you’re interested in hearing more, leave a comment or send a message and I’ll get you the details!
Life is too short to wonder if this is it. You have a choice to keep dreaming, creating, and making your life a great story - so let’s get work, shall we?!
Sending you love today, My Friend!
