In a Funk?

It’s a new year - and usually we’re excited to set new goals, intentions, and maybe even create a few new bucket list items. The year usually holds loads of new opportunities and endless possibility.

BUT, it feels like everyone I’ve talked to lately is feeling… well… sapped.

Our world seems full of uncertainty and more than a little negativity; and when you add that to isolation and cold weather… We find we sink into behaviors that aren’t exactly helpful, either. Distraction. Emotional eating. Stress-induced lashing out at those we love. Forgetting to focus on our top priorities and not paying attention to the boundaries that honor what we love most.

I don’t know about you - but it’s hard to get motivated with all that tugging at me!

Here’s what I think:

  1. Noticing that we’re feeling this way is the first step to changing it.

  2. Deciding we’re going to set 3 intentions anyway feels rebellious in light of our current mood.

  3. Digging deep and knowing we’re worth a life that feels inspiring, energized, and connected is the motivation we all need to create a life that makes us want to get out of bed in the morning!

  4. If you’re wanting to re-focus on this new year; to not let the uncertainty and negativity get you down; and to claim your worth - it may be time to ask for help. It can be a friend, a family member, a mentor - anyone who sees the worth in you and can challenge you to see it, too!

This year doesn’t have to start out with us sapped. We have a choice. We have options. Sometimes we just don’t see them - and takes a trusted friend to remind us.

(A coach can be that person, too. I’m here. I can help.)

It’s time to ignite joy, energy, connection, and a sense of possibility into your new year - and your life! The world can be spinning in chaos all around us… and we can still regain our focus, our priorities, our dream for the life that we’ll love. We just have to decide it’s time.
